My 3 a day experiment AKA "In it to win it"

Some people seem to be natural winners. Any contest, sweepstakes, or game of chance they win something. I am not one of those people. Every once in a blue moon I might win something but it is not a regular occurrence. As I wondered why I realized that I only enter sweepstakes and contests occasionally, no wonder I only win once in a while. You have to be in it to win it right? So I decided to do an experiment and enter at least 3 of these games of chance every day. (Well almost every, real life sometimes gets in the way. I'm looking at you spotty Time Warner cable😈) I have been doing this a little over a week and have won a personal size bottle of iced tea. Not exceptionally impressive, but it is better than nothing.  I have decided to start posting the three contests I enter every day. Not only will posting three sweepstakes every day keep me entering but maybe I could help someone else win something. So here are today's three chances to win.

Right now they have offers for free makeup from Sephora, a free custom sticker and a free sample of Truvia too. I had signed up for the free sticker a couple weeks ago. It arrived quickly and was awesomely awesome. Though that might be because I used a picture of my kids and I am a bit partial to them. 😊

Most of the year I make pizza from scratch but during the summer months I loathe to turn on the oven.  Thanks to Domino's tonight the oven stays off. They're giving the world away, a theory of abundance.

Once upon a time I started to write a book. The title was They're Giving the World Away.  The premise of this book was a theory I still believe in. My theory is that the world is a place of abundance and that not everyone wants the same things. Therefore whatever one person wants there is probably someone else trying to get rid of it or give away that exact thing. If it was possible to connect the two everyone would get what they want. Happy day! The book was about how to find someone giving away what you want. The problem I ran into was that the Internet and the world itself were changing faster than I could write the book. I would write a chapter that included websites and resources but before I could finish the book that chapter would be outdated. Some websites would shut down but other resources would pop up. I couldn't keep up with it and realized that whatever I wrote would almost instantly be outdated.  So I gave up and started a Yahoo group instead mostly focusing on coupon deals and freebies. But the world changed again and the decade of extreme couponing came to an end. Grocery stores stopped doubling coupons and manufacturers stopped releasing good coupons. Refunds went digital instead of snail mail, coupons went digital too. Then my life changed, I got married and had kids. I changed the way we ate to include more natural and organic products. At the time there were not a lot of coupons for natural foods*so I quit couponing and started cooking from scratch. So I stopped posting to the yahoo group and just went about my life. I still believe my theory and hopefully here I can help you find some of what you are looking for, for free or at least really cheap. Though KristieMaeSpeak blog is not primarily a deals and freebie site, it is an outlet for whatever is on my mind and in my life, deals and freebies are something I am into. So you will see a lot of this type of post... along with all the other twisted musings of my life.


*Luckily now there are more coupons for natural foods and stores have organic generic/house brands. Even Aldi carries a wide range of organic and natural products. Every day it is getting more affordable to be green. 😀

I like Phish my husband loves Phish. (For anyone who doesn't already know they are a jam band and their supporters are known as phans) Ben and Jerry of Ben and Jerry's ice cream are Phans. They even made a ice cream flavor called Phish Food. Phish is playing 13 nights in a row at Madison square garden, referred to as The Bakers dozen. In conjunction with this string of shows Ben and Jerry are offering a limited edition ice cream called "Freezer Reprise" They are also holding a contest. If there are two things I love it s FREE and PIZZA. Yup, you heard me right, free pizza. I love Uno's pizza with a passion usually reserved for my husband. Unfortunately their pizza can be a bit costly, luckily they often send great coupons (like $10 off $20). As an aside, we always take out because it is soooo much cheaper. There is no temptation to order appetizers, drinks or dessert. Tipping for takeout is optional and customarily only a buck or two. (Tipping for delivery, or dine in is NEVER optional!) First things, first. HELLO! I am Kristie and I am a......well I'm not quite sure. I am a wife and stay at home mother. I am frugal. I love getting free stuff (Heck, who doesn't?). I am STILL obsessed with the 90's, indisputably the best decade ever. I love music and my drummer of a husband. I try to be as "green" as possible without losing my mind, it is a process. I buy more organic and natural products than conventional and make some cleaning and personal products at home. I also suffer from anxiety and depression. I'm medicated but still a bit of an oddball, as if you can't tell that from the photo, lol. So I really don't fit in with the "normal' mommies. I never have, often I wish I did but even as an adult mother I am still shunned at the playground. Hopefully through this blog I will connect with the other outcast mothers out there. There have to be other moms who don't fit in with the PTA-Pinterest-perfect-Stepford mothers. Join me, together we can be ourselves proudly. Heck with what the other think. We are originals.
