Ripple, great song not so great yogurt.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a Grateful dead fan, and Ripple is an awesome song. Ripple non-dairy yogurt however, not so awesome. I was given the opportunity to sample Ripple non-dairy yogurt for free through MyMagazine Sharing Network, and while I appreciate the sample I can't  say I enjoyed it. I wanted to but the flavor was unpleasant to me. It has a strong, slightly bitter, pea aftertaste. The texture was ok, but I couldn't get past the flavor. I even tried adding strawberry jam but still couldn't get past the pea aftertaste. In my opinion there are much better tasting non-dairy yogurt products on the market. Unfortunately Ripple non-dairy yogurt gets a big thumbs down from me. Try at your own risk.

Cancer update and a few goodies

Hi everybody, sorry it has been so long since I posted. As some of you may know I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In December I had a double mastectomy. This spring I have been going through chemotherapy. Honestly it is rough, some days I can't even type, Heck some days I can't even think! I still have one more chemo treatment so I will be honest I'm not quite ready to promise regular posts.
Until then I will leave you with a bit of what I have been up to.

Me at chemo with my space alien shower cap on (it covers the cold cap that will hopefully help me keep my hair) I'm so afraid of catching the killer flu that is going around that every time I go out in public I wear a mask and gloves. I may look weird but so far it has kept me healthy.

Today I tried a Starbucks crystal ball frap. I think the purple sprinkles mean that my fortune is "magic" whatever that is supposed to mean I not sure but that's what the frap said.

And last but not least Green Chef, through the Ford cares (breast cancer) program was kind enough to send us two free boxes with three meals in each. I will eventually get around to doing a full review but let me just say that their customer service was amazing. We chose the carnivore box but neither Ben nor I eat fish so they were kind enough to substitute vegetarian option for those meals.

If anyone is interested in trying Green Chef I have three coupons for a free first box to give away.

Mountain Dew Ice review.

I received a free sample of new Mountain Dew Ice  from My Magazine Sharing Network. If you have a Kroger or affiliated store near you you shoud definitely sign up. They have great samples of new products.

This is a photo of the free sample kit I received. The kits always come packaged in such a cute way. They always have tissue paper almost like a gift!

Ben and I both sampled the new Mountain Dew Ice. Ben is a regular Mountain Dew drinker, I occasionally drink diet soda but usually drink unsweetened flavored seltzer water. We both agreed that Mountain Dew Ice tastes like lemon lime soda. I thought it was a bit sweeter than regular lemon lime soda but that could just be because I don't usually drink regular soda. The one advantage, at least in our opinions, over lemon lime soda is that Mountain Dew Ice has caffeine. I do feel that Mountain Dew Ice is a bit more refreshing than regular Mountain Dew. I probably won't drink it regularly, but I don't drink regular soda. Ben however does drink regular soda daily. He does seem to like the new Mountain Dew Ice.  So yeah, Mountain Dew Ice is lemon lime soda with caffeine. Please don't give it to my kids! Lol

August 14, Hendrix has a tooth where? They are giving the world away and in it to win it

Today is dentist day at our house, and just in the nick of time. A couple of days ago I noticed something strange in Hendrix mouth. It turned out to be a tooth coming in BEHIND his baby teeth. I have no idea what the dentist is going to do about that but I really hope it isn't too awful. Hendrix is a worried little kid anyway. **fingers crossed**

😁 Update, supposedly the tooth will push forward and push his baby teeth out and this is rather common. Nothing needs to be done.

They're giving the world away, a theory of abundance.

Once upon a time I started to write a book. The title was They're Giving the World Away.  The premise of this book was a theory I still believe in. My theory is that the world is a place of abundance and that not everyone wants the same things. Therefore whatever one person wants there is probably someone else trying to get rid of it or give away that exact thing. If it was possible to connect the two everyone would get what they want. Happy day! The book was about how to find someone giving away what you want. The problem I ran into was that the Internet and the world itself were changing faster than I could write the book. I would write a chapter that included websites and resources but before I could finish the book that chapter would be outdated. Some websites would shut down but other resources would pop up. I couldn't keep up with it and realized that whatever I wrote would almost instantly be outdated.  So I gave up and started a Yahoo group instead mostly focusing on coupon deals and freebies. But the world changed again and the decade of extreme couponing came to an end. Grocery stores stopped doubling coupons and manufacturers stopped releasing good coupons. Refunds went digital instead of snail mail, coupons went digital too. Then my life changed, I got married and had kids. I changed the way we ate to include more natural and organic products. At the time there were not a lot of coupons for natural foods*so I quit couponing and started cooking from scratch. So I stopped posting to the yahoo group and just went about my life. I still believe my theory and hopefully here I can help you find some of what you are looking for, for free or at least really cheap. Though KristieMaeSpeak blog is not primarily a deals and freebie site, it is an outlet for whatever is on my mind and in my life, deals and freebies are something I am into. So you will see a lot of this type of post... along with all the other twisted musings of my life.

*Luckily now there are more coupons for natural foods and stores have organic generic/house brands. Even Aldi carries a wide range of organic and natural products. Every day it is getting more affordable to be green. 😀

FREE PIZZA !

If there are two things I love it s FREE and PIZZA. Yup, you heard me right, free pizza. I love Uno's pizza with a passion usually reserved for my husband. Unfortunately their pizza can be a bit costly, luckily they often send great coupons (like $10 off $20). As an aside, we always take out because it is soooo much cheaper. There is no temptation to order appetizers, drinks or dessert. Tipping for takeout is optional and customarily only a buck or two. (Tipping for delivery, or dine in is NEVER optional!) But seriously, back to free pizza. July 15th from 1-4 pm Uno's is offering one free personal size pizza per party/car.  It looks like takeout only. Details and participating locations can be found here. https://www.unos.com/freelocation.php
